yael-biopic

Yael Talleyrand was born in Haiti in November 1993, in an artist family. Aside from drawing being some sort of a requirement in her household, she was introduced to graphic design software such as Photoshop, Illustrator, Indesign by her father at age 9, when her family moved to the South-East coast. Thus allowing her to avoid having her creative expression be hindered by the lack of art supplies in the area. The first medium she learned extensively was Photography, at the age of 13, with Haitian photographer Frédéric Dupoux. She began classical studies in Jacmel, Haiti and Cleveland, Ohio and got to start painting and drawing classes with master painter Daniel Whitely, to then continue her studies in Fine Arts and Videography at the Maryland Institute College of Art in Baltimore. She then returned to Haiti where she teaches drawing and painting for a year. Alongside Loic Jasmin, she started the brand 2Mabouya, mainly to bring back an apparel component to the studio, as well as a platform for visual expression which she is currently focusing on developing. Although, during the last couple years, her production has been more painting oriented.
